A result of the unusually wet winter in the desert areas of the southwest. An occurrence said to occur about every 20 years or so. Long dormant seeds erupt to color the usually barren landscapes. This almost looks unreal in its beauty! Desert Flowers on the east side of the Carrizo plain, in the Temblor Range (about 50 miles due west of Bakersfield, California).
