Awesome Table Tennis Rally!

I wonder why the guy who fought so hard, gave up the point in the end by climbing on to the table? I guess it is equivalent to resignation in Chess. Talking about Chess, Windows Vista has some really cool 3D graphics Chess (one of the free games provided along with the software).

I think both guys fought hard. In fact, the guy who gave up the point fought a tad less.

In my TT days, I never had a repertory of strokes, but I just knew how to return the ball. It simply needed infinite patience, added with a refusal to go for the kill even when the opponent tempts.

In this case, the guy with the back to us fought more tenaciously and was going for the kill. And, the 'kill' probably lacked the skill or didn't want to force the point. Instead, despite the physical straib of running all over, he (the guy faces us) was mentally wearing down his opponent, hoping the opponent will lose the point, rather than himself gain it.

Good observation. I agree with you. My favorites are the offensive spin shots hit far from the table, which start from outside the table area, curve in, and land on diagonally opposite side (akin to banana kick in Soccer)
